Mobius`s ViewDirect Technology selected by the State of Montana to Manage Report Output from PeopleSoft ERP System

Mobius Management Systems, Inc. has recently announced that the State of Montana has chosen Mobius`s ViewDirect technology for an enterprise-wide implementation to view and analyze report data from the State`s PeopleSoft enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. The customized information extracted using the Mobius software will enable more than 2,000 users throughout the State to make better and more timely decisions.

The Mobius solution for the State of Montana includes ViewDirect, the archiving engine and document server; DocumentDirect, the Windows-based viewing client; and DocuAnalyzer?, the data mining client that extracts data from reports for analysis.

The key benefits of the Mobius software suite are time and cost efficiencies. Prior to the installation of the Mobius system, reports were printed at the data centre and then distributed to the appropriate users. It was often the next day before end users received their reports. Now reports are available for on-line viewing within 15 minutes. Accordingly, the State will recognize cost savings in both paper and personnel associated with the distribution of paper-based reports.

"We have about 6,000 reports defined to the system from a variety of departments within the State," said David Smith, supervisor of production services. "These reports may be generated monthly, weekly, daily, or on some other schedule. We estimate that these reports are accessed about 14,000 times a month. We have recently added many reports from our SABHRS (Statewide Accounting, Budgeting, and Human Resources Systems) system, based on ERP software from PeopleSoft. Mobius`s ViewDirect and DocumentDirect give us timely access to reports that can be viewed on line by our diverse user base. In addition, using DocuAnalyzer, users can now select, extract, and analyze data from the PeopleSoft reports to produce customized views of the information needed to make decisions."

One of the heaviest users of the system is the Department of Public Health and Human Services for applications such as welfare, child support and family services. Other functions utilizing the system include payroll and personnel, accounting, public employees retirement, income tax, and worker`s compensation.
