Modular entry-level notebook with technology of the future

Fujitsu Siemens Computers broadens its companionable "family concept" with the new entry-level LIFEBOOK C1320
Munich Germany, 21 Jul 2005

Extremely robust with an exceptionally long battery life and the latest Intel Centrino Mobile Technology: with its new LIFEBOOK C1320, Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading European IT manufacturer and German market leader, has launched an innovative and powerful entry-level notebook for business customers. It is now available with a 15-inch standard or 15.4-inch widescreen display.

As companies ever increasingly replace their desktop PCs with professional notebooks, more emphasis is being placed on performance, battery life and versatility - characteristics which directly influence mobility and thus productivity.

Fujitsu Siemens Computers focused on these concerns when developing the LIFEBOOK C1320 and deploying innovative technologies supported by Intel`s latest 915GM chipset (known as Sonoma). Together with the LIFEBOOK "family concept", this enables the company to offer added investment protection to customers.

The youngest LIFEBOOK family member`s modular bay device, AC adapter and Port Replicator are compatible with the LIFEBOOK E and S Series as well as the CELSIUS H mobile workstation. The advanced lithium-ion battery technology allows the LIFEBOOK C1320 to operate for up to 12.5 hours (with both batteries) without recharging. The aluminium frame, meanwhile, offers exceptional on-the-road stability for a mobile device weighing only 2.65kg.

Currently, the LIFEBOOK C1320 is the only notebook in its class to offer the newest serial ATA (S-ATA) technology, which increases data transfer speeds to up to 150MBps. Alongside the Intel 915GM chipset, this gives the LIFEBOOK C1320 a 25% performance boost over its predecessor and makes it one of the most powerful notebooks in its class. The LIFEBOOK C1320 replaces the successful LIFEBOOK C1110, which boasted sales of 180 000 units in the EMEA region in two years.

Technical highlights:

* Intel 915GM chipset including: - Intel Pentium M processor with 533MHz front-side bus - Dual-channel PC533 DDR2 SDRAM - Express card slot
* Choice of 15-inch standard (XGA) or 15.4-inch widescreen (WXGA) display. - Hard disk supports serial ATA (5.400 rpm) - Weighs only 2.65kg - Fujitsu Siemens Computers LIFEBOOK family concept: shares Port Replicator, AD-adapter and drive slot with the LIFEBOOK E and LIFEBOOK S series as well as the CELSIUS H mobile workstation.
