IA Systems, a privately held IT firm, has recently been awarded two major contracts with Government National Departments. In June 2002, the Department of Public Enterprises selected IA Systems to implement an IDMS (Integrated Document Management System) valued at over R 2.5 million. This implementation involves the installation and configuration of IA System`s Document Management System called Hummingbird DM. The Department is due to go live with the new system in March this year.
In September 2002, the Department of Arts, Culture, Science and Technology (now two separate Departments) with The National Archives also selected IA System`s solutions to assist them in the management of their records and Internal business processes. The contract is valued at over R 2 million and implementation will be completed in March.
Says Daniel Hall Director at IA Systems "Hummingbird DM has an installed base across the globe of well over 2 million users." We are excited that we can expand this tremendous international base here in South Africa and especially in Government where our solution is an excellent fit.
IA Systems are the exclusive South African Government Resellers of Hummingbird Inc. a company world renowned for its robust and functionally rich Document Management and Knowledge Management solutions. Says Hall "as Governmental bodies throughout South Africa subscribe to legislation found in the Access to Information Act and policies as laid down by the National Archives, the requirement to manage documents and records electronically increases significantly. It is in this area that our solutions are positioned and we are well placed to continue this expansion into other Government areas."
