More power to the desktop user thanks to Sahara

Johannesburg, 25 Jul 2008

Sahara Computers has released its latest range of Sahara desktop PCs to the market. The latest offering is designed to meet the needs of a growing end user base as resellers experience an increase in demand for competitively priced, multi-functional PC solutions.

Gary Naidoo, deputy MD at Sahara, says the company has received substantial feedback from its reseller base indicating an increase in demand around the desktop PC, from entry level right through to the high end gaming market.

"The focus is on quality, feature-rich desktop products. Aspects such as LCD monitors, the latest in sound and graphic cards, wireless peripheral devices, Internet connectivity and the most up-to-date software are all key factors behind a decision to invest in desktop solutions. The popularity of combining a high performance desktop with mobile devices is also contributing to the spike in market interest as users interconnect between office and home," says Naidoo.

The range is made up of Performer, aimed at the home user, Exeda targeting small business and the Extreme which focuses on the gaming platform.

Each desktop solution is based from Intel processor technology and running on Foxconn motherboards. Foxconn's quality and performance has been key to Sahara's desktop success.

"Users today are looking for the whole package. A desktop system is designed to offer value as an extension of the network. It is not only being used as a workstation, it is also being applied as the central element of a multi-media entertainment system in the home, for example. We are pleased to report that speed, performance and functionality levels of the desktop today is such that users are really spoilt for choice in terms of what technology to take on board," adds Naidoo.
