More than 7 000 delegates expected at JD Edwards` Quest Global 2003 in Denver

Johannesburg, 30 May 2003

More than 7 000 delegates are expected to descend on Denver, Colorado, for Quest Global 2003, JD Edwards` annual conference presented by the company and its user group.

The event is being run from 9 to 12 June, and features the traditional compelling mix of user-driven education, pre-conference training, and speakers that has made Quest (formerly Focus) one of the most popular and successful ERP-centric user-driven events in the world.

Delegates will be able to attend presentations from industry and global thought leaders such as John Major, the former British Prime Minister; JD Edwards president and CEO, Bob Dutkowsky; and Robert Ballard, president of the Institute of Exploration and discoverer of the Titanic. A number of JD Edwards executives will present on the ways in which the company is fulfilling its promise to "deliver more software in the next 24 months than any similar period in JD Edwards` history".

"With more than 7 000 users, partners, vendors and JD Edwards representatives, Quest 2003 offers delegates the perfect environment to learn more about their systems, leverage best business practices, and arm themselves with the tools necessary to improve their company`s competitive positioning," says Mike Evans, MD of JD Edwards South Africa. "Nowhere else in the world can users, including several from SA, acquire this much knowledge, in one place, so as to boost their overall return on investment.

"Delegates will have an opportunity to be exposed to ideas and solutions from around the world, and to attend more than 200 strategic business process-focused educational breakout sessions."

Among the presenters will be two from local construction giant Group 5. Mike Mackay and Paul O`Flaherty will jointly present on the ways in which JD Edwards has helped the company expand across Africa, building a shared services infrastructure with powerful central controls.

Quest will be reinforced by the attendance of more than 150 exhibitors which have developed JD Edwards-specific solutions and add-ons.

"Quest is not just `another` conference," notes Evans. "It was designed by users, for users, and that sets it significantly apart from other, vendor-centric events. Attendees have a chance to influence future product direction, and through participation in special interest groups, to address challenges specific to their company and industry."
