Listen to dolphins online

Scientists at the Shannon Dolphin and Wildlife Foundation will install a listening array into the Shannon estuary on the west coast of Ireland to allow visitors to its site to listen to the sounds of dolphins.

SACM reports that the sounds will go live on the Web site in September. The estuary is home to a pod of approximately 50 bottlenose dolphins.

Swedes love cellphones

The number of Swedish cellphone subscriptions has surpassed the number of inhabitants in the country, reports AFP.

Subscriptions reached 9.07 million by the end of March in a country that has only 8.98 million residents. The higher number of subscriptions is largely due to the fact that many Swedes have one phone for personal use and one for work.

Sweden has the highest mobile penetration of all the Nordic countries, followed by Norway, Finland and Denmark.
