MS addresses 25 vulnerabilities

Microsoft will issue 11 bulletins in its next Patch Tuesday to fix 25 vulnerabilities in Windows, Microsoft Office, and Exchange, including two holes for which exploit code is in the wild, reports CNET News.

Five of the bulletins address critical vulnerabilities that could allow an attacker to take control of the computer, five are rated important, and one is rated moderate.

With the updates, Microsoft will close two outstanding security advisories that have been worrisome because code to exploit the vulnerabilities is available publicly.

iPad app for cloud management

Hosting firm Rackspace has unveiled an iPad application designed to manage cloud infrastructures, states Computing.co.uk.

The free Cloud Pro is the first iPad-based app designed to allow developers to manage Rackspace cloud servers, the firm said.

The app has a host of cloud server management options, including turning on server backups, creating new servers from backups, and managing backup schedules.

Adobe enables silent updates

Adobe Systems is enabling a silent updating feature in two products in an effort to ensure users are running the most secure versions of the company's software, says eWeek.

With the new updater, Windows users can configure Adobe Reader and Acrobat to automatically download updates without user interaction.

Right now, users have the choice of handling the entire process manually or downloading the updates automatically with user interaction being required before installation.
