MS divests two enterprise products

Microsoft will divest itself of Folio and NXT products that facilitate the management of online content, in a deal with Rocket Software, which develops enterprise infrastructure products. No terms of the agreement were disclosed, reports eWeek.

Rocket Software will provide support and new product releases to Folio and NXT customers. NXT started life within Microsoft, back in 2006, as part of an initiative to attract ISVs to Windows Server products.

"NXT is designed to make your easier and more cost-effective by giving you exclusive resources and benefits at each and every step to help ensure [that] your transition to Microsoft is a success," the NXT Web site said at the time.

Intel readies netbook app store

As Intel and PC makers prepare to unveil an app store for netbooks in 2010, the emphasis is on speed, says CNET News.

"We have a lot of developers right now jumping all over this and writing apps and getting them ready," says Scott Apeland, director of Intel's Developer Network. "Today, you can actually submit applications and get them in validation and be one of the first in the store when we have that available next year. We don't have specific dates. It's how fast we can get it up and ready."

The store itself will come preinstalled on future netbooks, according to Apeland. "We're working with OEM now to get this ready and preinstalled on systems.

Zoho offers Google Doc features

Online productivity service vendor Zoho has added a set of features designed to help users share documents from the Google Docs service, states Computing.co.uk.

The new features will be implemented within Zoho's Docs, CRM, Mail and Projects services, allowing users to import items from Google Docs and attach them to documents from the Zoho services.

Zoho said the additions are designed to help users transition between the two Web services, and were based on user feedback.
