Microsoft has released the SideWinder X4 keyboard designed for gamers.
According to Microsoft, the SideWinder X4 is built with advanced anti-ghosting technology.
Applied Sciences Group, an R&D team that works across the Microsoft Entertainment and Devices division, has developed anti-ghosting technology which allows gamers to press up to 26 keys at once.
According to a Microsoft statement, each key is scanned independently by the keyboard, enabling gamers to take full advantage of their skill and speed.
Steven Bathiche, research manager of the Applied Sciences Group at Microsoft, says: “We know that ghosting can be a problem for gamers, so we wanted to develop a way to eliminate this issue and improve the overall gaming experience, and we've succeeded with the new anti-ghosting technology in the SideWinder X4 keyboard.”
The keyboard features macro recording, mode and profile switching, and adjustable backlighting. Macro recording allows a gamer to string together multiple moves with the single push of a button, and an automatic macro repetition feature lets the gamer repeat the macro.
According to Microsoft, the SideWinder X4 keyboard will be available by the end of this year.
