
MS settles patent infringement case
Microsoft is paying $200 million to settle a patent-infringement suit levelled against it by VirnetX, which builds communication and collaboration technologies, says eWeek.
In March, a Texas jury found Microsoft had infringed on two US patents held by VirnetX, and ordered the software giant to pay $105.7 million in a substantial legal judgment.
East Texas has been the site of much legal trouble for Microsoft as of late, with the company also facing a patent-infringement suit levelled against it by Canadian start up i4i.
Raisecom selects Siverge solution
Siverge Networks, a supplier of networking silicon solutions, says its Griffin flagship product has been selected by Raisecom, a provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, for the next generation of its access products, writes Earth Times.

Dell teams with Emulex
Emulex says its single-chip OneConnect Universal Converged Network Adapters (UCNAs) have been selected by Dell, writes Market Watch.
Dell selected the company for its 10Gbps iSCSI and fibre channel over Ethernet converged connectivity and these are available across Dell PowerEdge rack and blade servers and for use with all Dell iSCSI and fibre channel storage solutions worldwide.
