Nearly 6 000 Iowa workers can now upgrade their technology skills and improve their job prospects under a partnership announced by Governor Chet Culver and Microsoft, DesMoinesRegister reports.
The initiative will provide 5 700 vouchers to Iowans who want to polish their computer skills, gain Microsoft certifications, or tackle advanced computer programming and network administration.
Culver said the programme will better prepare Iowa workers for hi-tech jobs.
