MS unveils server driver

The development team at Microsoft has unveiled the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Driver for PHP version 1.0, says CIOL.

According the release, the SQL Server Driver for PHP was developed according to the feedback and bug reports which the team received throughout the development cycle for the driver since the initial Community Technology Preview in October of 2007.

Microsoft has published the source code to the driver on the CodePlex site. There, developers can download the source code and provide feedback in the form of bug reports and feature requests.

Micron reveals server SSD

Micron is introducing faster and higher capacity flash solid state drives (SSD) for notebook and server use, says Blocks and Files.

The RealSSD P200 is a server-focused single-level cell SSD with a 16GB to 128GB capacity range inside a 2.5-inch form factor package.

Micron says it provides the industry's fastest 3Gbit/s SATA II-based sequential read and write speed of up to a maximum of 250MB/sec.

Provue releases Panorama

Provue Development has released the Panorama Enterprise Server, a new RAM-based database server for Mac OS X, says PCWorld.

It's priced starting at $399 and a demo version is available. Designed to work in conjunction with Panorama 5.5, Panorama Enterprise Server helps users set up network-based databases.

It uses a "mesh" architecture to distribute RAM-based copies of the shared across the network.
