MSI to release Windows 7 tablet

Taiwanese laptop-maker Micro-Star International (MSI) plans to debut a Windows 7 tablet PC next week at the Computex Taipei electronics show, says PC World.

This comes after showing off a prototype tablet running Google's Android mobile software early this year.

MSI and Asustek both showed off tablets with Android software at the International Consumer Electronics show in January.

China Telecom unveils BlackBerry devices

China Telecoms has partnered with RIM to release the e-surfing BlackBerry Enterprise business solutions, writes Global Times.

Song Guixiang, PR head of China Telecom, told Lifestyle its BlackBerry plans are targeted at corporate and government users only. "Business people will enjoy the powerful and efficient communication and application tools with our customised packages."

China Telecom will kick-off with Blackberry's Storm9530, and follow with the 9630 in June. It expects to introduce three to four different models all within the year.

Nokia may adopt Windows Phone 7

Mobile industry analysts are fuelling speculation as to whether mobile manufacturer Nokia is going to adopt Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 platform in the future, reports Top10.com.

The current rumours stem from statements by Rodman & Renshaw analyst Ashok Kumar, who says "the odds are stacked against the survival of Symbian," in the next generation of smartphones, potentially leaving Nokia to adopt an operating system (OS) over which it has little control.

Observers have reacted with scepticism to Kumar's statement, pointing to the fact that the Symbian platform outsells every other smartphone OS on the market at the moment and Nokia's grip in emerging markets will not allow this situation to change for the time being.
