MTN has extended the 'Mahala Thursdays' promotion, which was rolled out seven months ago, until the end of October.
The promotion gives customers up to 100% discount on local MTN-to-MTN calls and SMSes during on- and off-peak hours every Thursday.
According to MTN, SA's second-largest mobile operator, Mahala Thursdays has become a firm favourite for its customers since its unveiling.
"MTN Mahala Thursdays has seen significant uptake in the market and Thursdays have certainly become a popular day of the week for our customer base, and for this reason, given the demand, the extension was imminent," says Serame Taukobong, MTN SA's chief marketing officer.
"Therefore, even though this will be the last month of Mahala Thursdays, our customers can still enjoy other Mahala offers such as MTN Mahala Nights and MTN Mahala Weekends on MTN Zone, where they can enjoy up to 100% discounts on calls and SMSes," concludes Taukobong.
To join MTN Zone and reap the benefits of Mahala Thursdays, users must dial *141*4*2#. MTN Zone users can dial *135# or contact the MTN Call Centre to view currently available discounted rates in their locations.
The offer does not include international calls, premium-rated calls, data calls, video calls and MMS services.
