MTN is encouraging prepaid and TopUp customers to spend R6 or more a day on its network by offering free MTN to MTN calls and Internet browsing.
In a statement released today the operator said MTN prepaid and TopUp customers who used a minimum of R6 per day between 21 June and 30 June would be rewarded with an additional R60 on-net airtime.
The additional R60 can be used for on-net voice calls or Internet browsing, but not for sending SMS or MMS messages.
Newly elected chief marketing officer Larry Annetts notes that the promotion essentially gives 1 000% back to the customer.
MTN customers need to opt-in to the promotion dialling *130*500#.
The airtime depletion rate is dependent on the customer's price plan.
Annetts points out that the R60 usage reward is based on a minimum of R6 usage, and will be given only once a day. "This means that if a customer's usage is more than R6 a day, that customer will not qualify for additional free airtime value."
