MTN, SA's second-largest cellular operator, has again revived its Zone price plan and is offering customers up to 100% discounts on calls and SMSes to other MTN customers over extended hours during the Easter Weekend.
In addition, throughout the long weekend, MTN Zone customers will call for 88c to other networks.
"MTN Zone has been a successful tariff plan that resonates with the needs and demands of customers," says Serame Taukobong, chief marketing officer at MTN SA. MTN Zone provides discounts on calls and SMSs depend on the time of day and the subscriber's location.
MTN customers will be able to view the promotional discounts when they dial *135# or on their cellphone screens when they join MTN Zone by dialing *141*4*2#.
"MTN customers can look out for more exciting MTN Zone Mahala promotions in 2013," adds Taukobong.
This week, rival Vodacom cut its prepaid prices to 2c a second on a permanent basis.
