MTN has introduced a new package for contract customers called Prestige Plus, which it says was designed around customers' needs to provide a "holistic mobile proposition".
The operator says its new contract package gives customers more value by bundling more anytime minutes, SMSes and more data value for a single monthly subscription fee.
"Prestige Plus package also comes with the following tailored lifestyle benefits: airport lounge access for use during local and international travel, priority MTN call centre support and Smartphone Plus, a phone repair service to you to keep customers connected while their faulty handsets are repaired."
MTN's chief marketing officer Brian Gouldie says the company wanted to create a new package for customers looking for more than what it currently offers with its MTN AnyTime price plan range. "We believe we have developed an exclusive package that will meet value-added service needs of our high value customers."
The MTN Prestige Plus price plan will be available through exclusive deals with high-end smartphones, such as the Samsung S4 and the newly launched Apple iPhone 5s and 5c.
MTN's Prestige Plus packages consist of:
o 2500 AnyTime Any network minutes
o 2000 Anytime Any network SMSs
o 2GB Data
o Airport Lounge access
o Smartphone Plus repairs
o Priority support in MTN Call Centre
MTN says Prestige Plus customers will also have access to its LTE network. Gouldie says most customers buy LTE enabled devices without changing their SIM cards. "We would like to encourage [these customers] to visit an MTN store to swap their current SIM cards to an LTE SIM."
Monthly subscriptions on the new packages are dependent on the handset packaged with the deal. MTN Prestige Plus is also available on a "bring your own" device deal, while existing MTN customers can also migrate to the package.
