Multenet, an established global supplier of serial to Ethernet connectivity products, recently announced the release of the PocketPAD Router. The company, a leading innovator in networking technology, has announced the availability of a low-cost router for connecting remote devices or networks to your local network over GSM/GPRS and PSTN connections.
Phil Blain, the company`s sales and marketing director, says the PocketPAD Router is currently available at Multenet`s distribution centres.
Based on the entry-level PocketPAD design, the PocketPAD Router has two RS232 serial interfaces and one 10/100 Ethernet interface. The unit provides a Web-based user interface, designed to easily configure dial-in or dial-out PPP RAS connections using almost any external serial modem.
With the port forwarding feature, this product is ideal for use when setting up remote Ethernet networks for connectivity of equipment that supports Ethernet communication. In addition, the PocketPAD Router offers support for multi-linking and automatic bandwidth management.
With the recent acceptance of GPRS connectivity in both industrial automation monitoring and retail in-store payment transaction processing, this product offers the ideal bridge between GPRS serial modems and small device networks.
