Billion's 7401VGP ADSL WiFi router was chosen to form part of MWeb's recently introduced multiplay bundle.
This unique ADSL router offers considerable cost savings to users as it features integrated VOIP (voice over Internet Protocol) functionality, which allows for cheaper or even free local, international as well as cellular calls.
The bundle, which consists of ADSL broadband, a MultiChoice DStv PVR decoder and a Billion ADSL WiFi router, is the first multiplay offering made available to South African users.
In addition to the cost-saving VOIP functionality, the ADSL/WiFi router also allows for free calls between MWeb Broadband Talk subscribers; plus as the device is WiFi enabled, it provides users with the flexibility to access the router from anywhere in the house or garden. It also allows for all family members in the house to share the ADSL Internet connection simultaneously, either via cables or wirelessly.
"We often find that broadband bundles aimed at the consumer marketplace only feature entry-level routers. This, however, is not the case with the MWeb multiplay package; the Billion 7401VGP ADSL/WiFi router is a comprehensive, high-end device that offers a powerful and advanced feature-set," comments Riaan Leuschner, MD of Nology, official South African distributor of Billion.
Apart from the device's noteworthy features, the Billion router is also easy to install, with colour coded ports and an installation CD with animated instructions, making connection and installation a breeze.
Furthermore, the Billion router features an additional connection port, which enables users to plug-in their standard Telkom landline phones to make VOIP or standard calls through the router.
"We feel fortunate to play a role in the country's first multiplay offering. No doubt, Nology's relationship with MWeb will go from strength-to-strength," says Leuschner.
"MWeb has partnered with Nology for the past year and this was a logical extension for us and an opportunity to continue the good relationship we have with them," concludes Natalie Thayer, General Manager of MWeb Home.
The MWeb multiplay bundle is structured with a monthly fee of R599 for 12 months. It includes:
* A DStv subscription for its Premium Bouquet, excluding a dish and installation;
* MWeb's Internet access - ADSL 1GB cap allowance - with a 384K bits connection speed;
