Navision Software has announced that it expects to release the first enterprise business solution featuring complete Windows 2000 certification on March 31. Navision Financials 2.60 was awarded the Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional certification earlier this year, and the Microsoft Windows 2000 Server certification completes the package.
"We worked hard to earn both these certifications because we wanted our customers to benefit as much as possible from the new platform," says Navision Software managing director Keith Mullan. According to Mullan, the new platform can reduce system administration costs and improve IT security immediately.
A large number of companies worldwide are already benefiting from Windows 2000 features such as Active Directory, OnNow and Clustering, which are supported in Navision Financials. "For example, clients can now shut down a server for maintenance and users don`t even notice. Furthermore, it doesn`t slow down operations and there are no complications when they need to expand their IT infrastructure with new servers."
All users of Navision Software`s products, including earlier versions, will benefit from the Windows 2000 platform. Besides securing certifications for the latest version of Navision Financials, Navision Software is making sure that users can migrate from earlier versions to the latest Microsoft operating system. Extensive testing has been carried out at the Microsoft/Compaq Windows 2000 Migration Laboratory in France.
The acquisitions of the Windows 2000 certifications demonstrate Navision Software`s ability to support all its generations of users with the latest technology. Today, Navision Software has close to 39 000 customers worldwide in more than 89 countries.
Navision Software has an impressive track record of running on Microsoft technology. Navision Financials was the first enterprise business software solution to receive the "Designed for Microsoft Windows NT" and "Designed for Windows 98" logos as well as the "Microsoft Office 97 Compatible" and "Designed for Microsoft BackOffice" logos. In addition, Navision Software offers the Microsoft SQL Server Option for Navision Financials and Navision Web Shop, an e-commerce solution, which integrates with standard Microsoft technology.
The worldwide version of Navision Financials 2.60 will be released to the 23 local Navision Software companies around the world for localisation.
