
NCC gives nod to takeover
The National Communications Commission in Taiwan approved the acquisition of cable TV operator Kbro by Dafu Media, under the auspices of Fubon Group, enabling the group to enter the digital convergence market, reports CENS.com.
The cable-TV operation will be added to the fixed-line and mobile communications businesses of Fubon, putting it at a position to tap the emerging digital convergence market, the company says.
Dafu is a private company set up by Fubon, following a previous deal between Taiwan Mobile, under Fubon Group, fell through due to the legal ban on the government, political party, and military to invest in mass media.
TelcoBridge, Voiceworks partner
Converged network solutions provider, Voiceworks has joined TelcoBridges' media gateway partner programme, states The San Francisco Chronicle.
The partner programme started earlier this year and aims to provide its partners with training tools and support converged network solutions based on TelcoBridge's family of voice-over-Internet protocol (VOIP) gateways.
"We were initially sceptical when we heard of the density provided by the Tmedia family of VOIP gateways but, indeed, as they say, seeing is believing," says Stijn Nijhuis, purchasing director for Voiceworks.
IVR improves VOIP services
IVR technologies has partnered with CounterPath, to offer a VOIP phone service solution that is expected to help service providers drive revenue and cut operating costs, says TMC Net.
The integrated solution comprising of IVR Technologies' Talking SIP's services platform along with CounterPath's softphones aims to provide service providers with scalability and flexibility.
CounterPath's SIP-based softphones, server applications and fixed-mobile convergence solutions enable service providers, enterprises and original equipment manufacturers to extend functionality across both fixed and mobile networks by integrating voice, video, presence and instant messaging.
