NEC today announced that it was extending its award-wining Versa range of notebook computers to include the Versa AX. This new model is a full-featured value solution that will appeal to companies of all sizes who are looking for a sleek, all-in-one design, solid performance and Internet access.
Sales and Marketing director, Bruce Reinders say the Versa AX is an innovative design that offers unprecedented features, power and flexibility to everyday business users - it also gives them access to the award winning Versa notebook family`.
The AX is powered by a 450MHz Mobile AMD-K6-2-P processor and offers 64MB of RAM and a 6GB (12GB max) hard drive. In addition, it boasts an eye-catching 12.1" DSTN display and built-in 56K modem. The all-in-one design of the Versa AX gives users instant access to its broad range of features such as the three-spindle design incorporates hard drive, floppy drive, 24X CD-ROM, and NiMH battery.
Annalise Oliver, general manager NEC brand say `for today`s connectivity needs, the Versa AX can be ordered with an internal mini-PCI 56K modem or mini-PCI 10/100 LAN controller. It also comes with two Type II PC Card slots for maximum expandability, and features two dedicated hotkeys for one-touch access to email and the Web.
The Versa AX is available with Windows 98 and comes with a full range of productivity software and utilities, including Microsoft Word 2000, Works and Money, and a Recovery CD. The Versa AX is PC 99 ready and ACPI compliant and can be ordered direct from NEC Direct.
