Nedbank banks on STT for simulation-based training

Johannesburg, 16 Jul 2002

Software Training Technology (STT), leading provider of authoring and management tools for simulation software training and support, has been awarded the contract to provide simulation-based SAP training for Nedbank Corporate.

The Nedbank Corporate Property and Finance Division was created in July 2002 from the merger of the Cape of Good Hope , BoE Corporate and the property and finance divisions of Nedbank and NIB. The company provides a full range of advisory, debt, equity and transactional services to large and medium-sized corporates.

The merger left the company with more than 1000 employees to assess and train - an enormous task that needed to be accomplished quickly in order to minimize any loss of productivity caused by the merger.

"We required a tool to perform a formal assessment of employee`s skills and level of training of their SAP platform," explains Craig Ralphs, training manager, Nedbank Corporate.

After a stringent selection process involving a number of e-learning solutions, Nedbank Corporate Property and Asset Finance chose STT.

"We required a system which would enable us to measure the effectiveness of our SAP training and offer ease of use, STT offered both," says Ralphs

"Even at this early stage we are satisfied that we are getting the return we want on the training investment fairly quickly."

STT (Software Training Technology) is an e-learning company providing software for the development, deployment and management of software simulation training.

Established in 1998, STT was among the first to introduce software simulation to the e-learning marketplace. As a result, STT`s product suite, which incorporates STT Trainer and STT Manager, has evolved into one of the industry`s more mature and comprehensive software simulation and documentation product suites available, encompassing Authoring, Content Management, Training and Assessment, Documentation, Online Help and Learning Management. Today, more than 200 multinational companies from around the world use STT products to create, deliver and manage simulation training for over 275 000 users on their ERP, CRM, and Web and Windows based applications.

"We are proud to be associated with one of the leading financial services corporations in Africa in addressing their e-learning requirements. We believe that our instructural design capabilities will significantly contribute to the retention rate of their learners. Going forward we hope to extend the relationship with Nedbank Corporate across the Nedcor group," says Lenard Hall, Regional Sales Manager: Africa & Australasia, STT SA.
