Neo Solar Power invests in Solar Farm

PV-Tech writes.

However, the deal differs from most as it revolves around Neo Solar Power contributing at least 10MW worth of solar cells that will be used in modules built by Advanced Solar Photonics, BCE's subsidiary, and used in the project.

According to Recharge News, the cells that Neo Solar Power supplies will be converted into solar panels.

“NSP's executive management understands that to truly thrive in the PV industry, it is necessary to put your product to work in projects generating electricity revenue,” says Yongshuang Wang, VP of strategic development for BCE.

Rechargeable Energy World reports that BlueChip claims it is seeking to line up similar agreements with other solar equipment manufacturers for the 40MW first phase of Sorrento Solar Farm, so that it can skip seeking project financing from financial institutions.

If BlueChip is successful, Sorrento would certainly be a departure from the usual way a large-scale solar project gets financed.
