Storage vendor, NetApp, yesterday revealed its latest Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) positioning in the open networked disk storage systems market.
The company says it is growing faster than the open networked disk storage systems market. Year-on-year growth amounted to 76.1%.
According to IDC's 'EMEA Quarterly Disk Storage Systems Tracker, Q2 2010', NetApp was the only vendor from the top eight, which are monitored by IDC, to gain market share.
The company is currently ranked number two in EMEA for the second consecutive quarter, with a revenue share of 16.4% in Q2 2010 compared to 11.7% in Q2 2009.
The vendor says the results demonstrate NetApp's growth potential and capabilities on the EMEA storage market, adding that the strongest markets for NetApp in EMEA are Germany, ranked number one, France and the UK & Ireland, ranked number two.
From a year-on-year perspective, NetApp gained market share in 32 of the 40 EMEA countries or regions, which IDC is tracking. Furthermore, NetApp is growing faster than the market in 29 of the monitored EMEA countries or regions.
“It's good to see that we have maintained our momentum in EMEA and have grown our market share,” said Andreas K"onig, senior vice-president and general manager EMEA at NetApp during the company's Quarterly VP Summit at Melrose Arch yesterday.
“We, definitely, have a compelling story to tell and our customers value our efforts to make their IT infrastructure flexible and efficient.
“We have been able to close the gap on the number one market position again in the second quarter, which means we are on track to meet our goal of becoming the number one storage vendor in EMEA by 2012,” he said.
