NetApp profits grow in cloud
NetApp has exceeded expectations with its fiscal fourth quarter and fiscal year 2010 earnings report, states Internet News.
The company's revenue for the fourth fiscal quarter was $1.17 billion, up from $800 million in Q4 2009.
The company attributes the growth to recovery in the server market, and growing interest in cloud computing and virtualisation.
VMware leaks cloud computing products
The plans for VMware's cloud computing products were accidentally posted on the company's Web site recently, revealing an important step forward in cloud computing, writes Search Cloud Computing.
The new offerings include vCloud Service Director, a set of VMware technologies that provide interfaces, automation and management tools for the VMware environments running in the enterprise.
The technology turns the enterprise into private clouds and allows them to be linked with outside service providers running the vCloud Express service.
Zerto secures $6.2m venture capital
A start-up cloud computing company Zerto, founded by Zim and Oded Kedem, has raised $6.2 million, reports Globes Online.
The company was founded a year ago, with the intent of delivering next-generation data services in dynamic IT environments.
The company raised the financing from Battery Ventures and Greylock Partners, with $200 000 in seed-stage financing from Greylock in January.
