NetIQ Corporation, an Attachmate business, today announced that Gartner Inc positioned NetIQ in the "Leaders" quadrant for security information and event management (SIEM).
Gartner's Magic Quadrant report evaluates vendors on their ability to execute, as well as their completeness of vision. Overall viability, sales execution and pricing were some of the criteria evaluated for the vendors' ability to execute. Criteria related to completeness of vision included market understanding and sales strategy.
In the recently released report [1], Gartner asserts that "an optimal solution will support the real-time collection and analysis of log data from host systems, security devices and network devices; will support long-term storage and reporting; will not require extensive customisation; and will be easy to support and maintain".
