Today Netscope announced the unveiling of its i-Training strategy. A move that will see the company merge it`s Certified Training and Internet Development divisions to form the first certified Internet-focused training centre in Southern Africa. This announcement coincided with Netscope being the first Microsoft CTEC (Certified Technical Education Centre) in South Africa to be awarded CTEC-online status.
This move is in line with the company`s vision of being at the forefront of change, by pioneering new training delivery methods and by creating useful certifications that not only realistically address the critical IT skills gap, but more importantly enables South African companies and individuals alike to harness the power that the Internet has to offer. "The Internet is like a Ferrari sitting there with the keys in the ignition", says Jason Perthel, Managing Director of Netscope Training, "and we`re there to teach you the thrill of driving".
Netscope announced the reengineering of its entire base of certifications, such as the well-known A+, MCSE and MCSD courses, by introducing an in-depth Internet focus. These products have been renamed A+ Advanced, iMCSE and iMCSD and contain an international certification with an additional emphasis on Internet Technologies. Students are taught a variety of skills, from troubleshooting dial-up networking to designing and implementing an e-Commerce architecture.
Late last year, Netscope premiered the Web Toolbox(, an ILT (Instructor-Led Training) course, largely made-up of Macromedia products, such as Fireworks, Flash and Dreamweaver, in response to an overwhelming industry need to offer web professionals a quality education. The course consists of 4 primary areas of specialisation, namely, Computer Graphics for the Web, Building Effective Web Sites, Multimedia for the Web and Building Advanced Web Sites and is widely hailed as the definitive web-design course. This course has collectively been improved and developed and is now offered as a stand-alone certification, branded as the Netscope Web Professional.
