NetSuite unifies ERP

NetSuite, a provider of cloud-based (ERP) solutions, has unveiled NetSuite OpenAir to the UK and European marketplace, reports The Hosting News.

The solution is designed to replace disparate and costly applications with an integrated suite that unifies project and ERP management, accounting, time and expense management and customer relationship management.

Zach Nelson, CEO of NetSuite, says: “It's a critical solution designed specifically to help international services businesses meet the challenges of global services delivery while maximising resource utlisation, operational efficiency and project profitability.”

Windows 64-bit gets a boost

Microsoft has released figures that indicate nearly half of all Windows 7 installations are running on a 64-bit computing setup, states PC Mag.

According to Windows communications manager Brandon LeBlanc, 54% of worldwide systems run the 32-bit version of Windows 7 compared the 46% that opts for Windows 7 x64.

"The reason for the jump in transition to 64-bit PCs can be attributed to a few things," says LeBlanc. "The first is the price of memory has dropped over the last several years making it easier for OEMs to up the amount of memory in the PCs they ship.”

CourseSmart drives learning

CourseSmart has rolled out a software program for universities and colleges that provides faculty members with access to e-textbook formats of more than 90% of the most popular textbooks, says PR Newswire.

The Faculty Instant Access program is initially being rolled out to a select group of higher institutions to provide tertiary learning e-textbooks and digital learning tools.

CourseSmart's advanced enterprise architecture, leveraging the IMS Learning Tools Interoperability standard, ensures a secure, flexible and lightweight integration within a campus enterprise system.
