Spescom MeasureGraph has announced the availability of the next generation Polarization Mode Dispersion measurement system from NetTest (GN Nettest). The NetTest Nexus is the only field portable PMD measurement system that offers up to 57 dB dynamic range for system designers and network operators to measure the bandwidth limiting effects of PMD in high bit rate, long-haul optical networks.
Product specialist Hilton Preston at Spescom MeasureGraph says the communications industry is on the verge of wide scale deployment of 40Gb/s systems, which require accurate PMD measurements and proper dispersion compensation engineering for these systems to operate with acceptable bit error rates.
