The BlackBerry Curve 9360 is now available from 8ta, BlackBerry maker Research In Motion (RIM) says.
One of three new Curves announced by RIM in August, along with the 9350 and 9370, the 9360 has an 800MHz processor and the handset features a qwerty keyboard and optical trackpad.
It comes equipped with a 2.44-inch 480x360 display, 5MP camera, microSDHC card slot, GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1. It also features built-in support for near-field communication technology and is preloaded with Social Feeds (2.0), which includes BBM, Facebook and Twitter in a consolidated view.
The Curve handsets have proven popular as entry-level smartphones, especially in emerging markets such as Africa and the Middle East.
Vishal Phlad, executive head of mobile services at Telkom Mobile, says the 9360 is a welcome addition to 8ta's shelves, and he is confident it will be “a popular choice among the operator's value-conscious customers”.
The BlackBerry Curve 9360 is available on 8ta's Contract 2 at R208 per month, including BlackBerry Internet services, free SIM and connection, or on its Contract 1 at R198 per month. Prepaid customers can purchase the device for R3 198.
