New CA software for automating, integrating identity and access management

Johannesburg, 17 Nov 2003

Computer Associates (Africa) has released a new software suite designed to automate and integrate identity and access management activities across enterprise, customer and partner environments.

The eTrust Identity and Access Management Suite is a standards-based solution said to empower organisations to manage growing internal and external user populations, secure an increasingly complex array of resources and services and comply with critical regulatory mandates.

It assists in eliminating operational inefficiencies, reducing menial tasks and monitoring government and regulatory authority compliance.

eTrust Identity and Access Management Suite integrates - at the server level - virtually all aspects of managing identities and controlling access. It is said to be the first solution to bring provisioning, enforcement and auditing together with a common architecture and shared administrative interface.

The suite consists of six modular components:

* eTrust Admin http://www3.ca.com/Solutions/Product.asp?ID=155 - identity lifecycle management.

* eTrust Access Control http://www3.ca.com/Solutions/Product.asp?ID=154 - identity-based access control to servers, files and applications.

* eTrust Audit http://www3.ca.com/Solutions/Product.asp?ID=157 - identity-based auditing

* eTrust Directory http://www3.ca.com/Solutions/Product.asp?ID=160 - scalable and secure identity repository.

* eTrust Single Sign-On http://www3.ca.com/Solutions/Product.asp?ID=166 - simplified access to multiple applications.

* eTrust Web Access Control http://www3.ca.com/Solutions/Product.asp?ID=3224 - identity-based access control to websites, portals, Web services and other extranet resources.

eTrust Identity and Access Management Suite is the first identity and access management solution specifically designed by CA to support emerging on-demand architectures and Web services.

In on-demand environments, it automates the provisioning and de-provisioning of user privileges as necessary for the dynamic allocation of computing resources to the business services those users require.

In the Web services environment, it manages access to business-critical processes exposed via Web services - leveraging standards such as Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) and Service Provisioning Markup Language (SPML) to streamline access control regardless of the underlying complexity of the supporting infrastructure.

It is available in terms of CA`s FlexSelect flexible licensing programme.
