Venture Computer, the sole distributor in South Africa for Lexmark International, today announced two new colour printers, the Optra Color 40 and the Optra Color 45.These two new printers offer both PCL 5 with colour and PostScript Level 2 emulations and have print speeds of up to 8 ppm black and 4 ppm colour, with 600 x 600 dpi resolution and 1200 Image Quality. Additionally, they have an optional 6-colour photo printing capability. These printers are compatible with Win NT 4.0, Win 98, OS/2, and MAC systems.
The Optra Color 40 installs easily in all major network environments and comes with MarkVision for remote management to improve productivity for network administrators, Small businesses and workgroups in large corporations will like the Optra Color 40 for such things as reports, presentations, marketing materials and real estate fliers.
The Optra Color 45 offers all the features of the Optra Color 40 together with a wide format capability (A3 and oversize A3) and support for major colour management and matching systems. It is extremely suitable for desktop publishing, colour proofing, engineering and graphics design applications. Additional, the Optra Color 45 comes with an optional 100 sheet input Accufeed Mechanism.
"At last, we have two colour printers using inkjet technology capable of fitting into a networking environments and utilising the tools and software only previously available with non-impact technology printers" commented Richard Fearon, the sales and marketing director at Venture Computer. "They also come at very affordable prices" he added.
These two new printers which are driven by a 33 MHz RISC processor, and include Flash Memory options offer a capability only previously available with laser printers, but with the conventional small footprint associated with inkjet technology.
