Local storage specialists, Systems Integration and a United Kingdom-based company, Source Enterprise Consulting Limited, announced the launch of a new joint-venture company today. The new company, called Source Enterprise Consulting SA, will offer capacity planning and business continuity services to large corporates and will have offices in both Johannesburg and Cape Town. John Hope-Bailey, currently Technical Director of Systems Integration, has been appointed as the managing director of the new company.
Source Enterprise Consulting SA will be a vendor-independent company that consults on storage architecture planning, data profiling, storage TCO surveys, capacity planning, storage resource management, deployment and project management and expert services. In addition to that, the new company will use Source Consulting UK's OPUS range of methodologies to provide services such as analysis and auditing of existing systems, data profiling, diagnosis of their ability to deliver to user demand, remedy recommendation where appropriate, and regular automated maintenance auditing to ensure problems do not occur in the future.
Jack Ward, managing director of Systems Integration (SI), says, "SI has specialized in the provision of storage solutions for over twelve years. The addition of a pure consulting company integrates perfectly with the existing software and hardware subsidiaries.
"This joint-venture allows SI to use its existing infrastructure to offer clients world-class consulting services that have already been tried and tested in a rigorous business environment."
Jason Rabbetts, managing director of Source UK, says, "Source UK is delighted with the joint-venture, which is our first international partnership. Teaming up with an established storage solution provider such as SI makes perfect sense as SI already know what the storage business is about, and have expert knowledge of their market."
