The Enterprise Networks division of Siemens Telecommunications (Pty) Ltd announced today it has signed a co-operation agreement - effective immediately - with Digital Designs, a Johannesburg-based audiovisual (AV) company. Together the companies will offer customers in Southern Africa integrated, multimedia audiovisual and videoconferencing (VC) solutions and services.
Digital Designs is renowned for the integration and provision of standard and customised audiovisual applications and solutions. The company operates primarily in Gauteng but is expanding and is now also doing projects in Durban, Cape Town and Botswana. It has a sales arm in Namibia. The Enterprise Networks division of Siemens Telecommunications (Pty) Ltd is a provider of videoconferencing solutions in the Southern African marketplace.
In terms of the agreement, Digital Designs will become Siemens' partner for audiovisual solutions. Siemens, in turn, will provide its new partner with videoconferencing products. Digital Designs will, as part of its AV solution offering, also resell and support Siemens VC equipment, making it the ideal channel partner.
Fred Maurus, the Divisional Manager for Product and Technology Management of Enterprise Networks at Siemens Telecommunications, said: 'The agreement enhances our portfolio for multimedia conferencing and interaction facilities.
'We are now in a position to offer our customers a one stop shop for value-added multimedia conferencing and audiovisual solutions. For example, Siemens Enterprise Networks has a strong market position in the hospitality industry, providing complete solutions for business and conference centres in hotels and convention venues.''
Chris Roos, the Operations Manager of Digital Designs, said: ''The agreement will enable us to tap into Siemens' regional footprint, and thereby offer diverse expertise and value-added solutions to our customers.
''Siemens also has a strong position in Africa. We will be able to use their channels to sell and expand into the continent,'' Roos said.
