Fujitsu today expands its x86 industry-standard system line-up with the introduction of the AMD EPYC processor-based Fujitsu Server PRIMERGY RX2450 M1. The dual-socket 2U rack system delivers powerful performance across various workloads, together with power and data centre footprint gains and ships with flexible configuration options.
Powered by the AMD EPYC 7002 Series processor, the PRIMERGY RX2450 M1 is the first AMD EPYC processor-based server in the current PRIMERGY rack-mount portfolio. As a low-latency system, it is ideal for high-performance computing scenarios.
The PRIMERGY is a solid building block for Software-Defined Storage (SDS) and Hyper-Converged Infrastructure solutions, supporting the connection of up to 24 drives. This specification means it is well suited for demanding applications and workloads such as virtualised environments, HPC, Software Defined Storage (SDS) solutions, desktop virtualisation (VDI), and hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI).
Strong capabilities in handling heavyweight virtualisation tasks make the PRIMERGY RX2450 M1 the ideal pick for service providers (xSPs) looking for an exceptional price-performance ratio as the foundation to provide competitively priced services for their customers. The AMD EPYC processor-based PRIMERGY model also excels in VMware virtualised environments such as vSphere, and for other applications that are licensed according to the number of CPU sockets.
At the same time, its lower power draw delivers the same performance at up to half the power consumption of other systems, lowering total cost of ownership.
Pricing and availability
Starting in Europe, the new FUJITSU Server PRIMERGY RX2450 M1 is available to order from April 2021.
Further availability will follow. Pricing is according to country and system specifications.
