New Gigabyte Neon Coolers from Rectron - for ultra-cool gaming

Johannesburg, 10 Mar 2005

Rectron has introduced Gigabyte Technology`s new Neon Cooler 775 and Neon Cooler 8 series of CPU fan sinks targeted at gamers who require visual effects combined with maximum thermal dissipation and quiet operations.

Both coolers are built on Gigabyte`s Neon Cooler 7 architecture, while the Neon Cooler 8 offers support for AMD-based Socket 939 systems and the Neon Cooler 7 incorporates the Intel-based LGA 775.

With their heat dissipation capabilities, the new coolers are ideal for LAN gaming events where participants overclock their rigs to the absolute maximum.

"The coolers are the logical choice for creative case modifications that show off systems through transparent side panels," adds Michael Hann, Gigabyte product manager at Rectron.

Looking at the Neon Cooler 775, its extended fin profile provides a larger surface area for efficient heat dissipation from the CPU core while the quiet, oversized fan draws hot air away from the components into the air currents.

The Neon Cooler 8 incorporates copper insertion technology - the copper base of the cooler absorbs heat from the CPU core and transfers it to the external block where it is removed from the aluminium fins by the large fan.

Both Neon Coolers feature a fan duct design that significantly reduces noise levels by drawing air from all directions simultaneously to reduce air turbulence.
