With the proliferation of high-definition (HD) TV sets in South Africa, Duxbury Networking has released a new HD media player designed to enable users to play digital videos, view photos or listen to music directly on HDTVs.
The Netgear NeoTV 350 HD Media Player allows access to media collections stored on USB storage devices, hard drives, memory cards, home media servers, home networks or on the Internet.
Andy Robb, chief technology officer at Duxbury Networking, the SA distributor of Netgear products, confirms that one of the key drivers of sales of Web-connected consumer electronics products is access to premium content such as online videos and music, as well as personal content such as photos.
“Netgear's new NeoTV 350 HD Media Player meets this demand by enabling users to create a Web-enabled living area in which new-generation HDTV sets are easily broadband-connected,” he says.
NeoTV features include a built-in memory card slot for instant photo slideshows on the TV, DLNA/UPnP compatibility for access to media servers, network share connectivity and an optional wireless connection using Netgear's Universal WiFi Internet Adapter.
