With businesses under increasing pressure to perform at a pace not far off the "speed of thought" scenario sketched by Bill Gates, Xerox brings to the South African market a high performance colour printer that shoots out colour at 30 pages a minute with the first page in the tray in just 16 seconds.
"Productivity equals success in today's business environment," says Hester Pescivolo, national product manager channels at the JSE-listed Xerox distributor, Square One Solutions Group.
"In this environment companies want shared printing resources to be fast and the new Xerox Phaser 73000 is lightning quick, thanks to single pass printing technology, a powerful processor and loads of memory. It's the hot-rod of colour printers."
Available in four models, recommended retail prices for the Phaser 7300 start at R59 999 (excluding VAT).
The Xerox Phaser 7300 gives offices the capability to affordably tackle high volume printing tasks in sizes varying from postcard to 300mm x 450mm as well as special projects including labels, business cards, brochures and banners. A 500MHz processor provides the power, memory is expandable to 512MB and there is an additional 20GB hard drive for saved prints.
"From a business perspective, colour demands attention and gets better results from prospective customers," says Pescivolo. "The Phaser 7300's versatility gives companies a competitive-edge by catering for high-quality colour on all of its documentation."
The Phaser technology automatically optimises every print job for the brightest colours, sharpest text and clearest reproduction of digital images. Pescivolo adds that the printer's 2400dpi capability dramatically improves the look of everyday work with crisp, clean text and precise detailing.
It supports paper sizes from A6 all the way through to banner (328mm x 914mm), including customised sizes and a paper calibration sensor adjusts print density to allow for unusual paper stocks and environmental conditions such as high humidity.
A "run black" feature allows the machine to print monochrome documents in the unlikely event that users run out of colour toner, which is available in high-capacity easy to replace modules.
"With a robust duty cycle allowing up to 83 000 pages a month, large volume jobs can be printed in-house at considerably lower costs," says Pescivolo. "The Phaser 7300 is also extremely versatile in terms of paper sizes and paper tray feeds. It is also able to print on paper weights of up to 203gsm with an automatic paper thickness sensor to ensure top print quality on the heavier stocks."
