New HP dx7500 range caters for wide range of business-user requirements, says Tarsus

Johannesburg, 29 Jul 2009

Tarsus Technologies has announced the local availability of the HP dx7500 range of corporate desktops, designed specifically to enhance productivity without compromising efficiency.

Andr'e Wollheim, HP desktop product manager at Tarsus, says that although the base-line versions of the dx7500 are more than adequately configured to give business users access to high levels of performance, and reliability, the fact that these machines can be built-to-order gives companies the flexibility to select a specifications list that caters for a more demanding IT environment.

“From cost-effective Intel Celeron processor-based models with 1GB of memory, to performance-centric Intel Core 2 Duo-based models with up to 8GB of memory, the dx7500 range caters for a wide range of business requirements,” he explains.

“The available component choices span more than simple processing power and main memory,” he continues.

“On the storage front, companies can choose from between 160GB and 500GB worth of hard drive capacity and either a standard DVD-ROM drive or a multi-layer, LightScribe-enabled DVD-writer.

“The same applies to graphics power,” he says. “From a graphics perspective, the ability to drop in a Radeon 3650 video card with 512MB of memory gives users the ability to transform their desktop into a PC that's capable of running low- to medium-end CAD/CAM applications.

“Literally every option has been catered for,” he adds.

Wollheim says that the dx7500 is ideal for today's market, especially if one considers the vastly different buying criteria being used by the majority of corporations.

“The economic downturn has meant that companies are buying smarter and are looking for ways to extend the usable life of their PC hardware,” he says.

“With the features inherent in the dx7500 range and its full complement of upgradeable components and accessories, companies can choose a specification that suits them now, and which can also cater for the future with the knowledge that more powerful, HP-approved components are available as and when they need to bolster their desktop performance level.

“It's an exciting change to the internationally branded desktop landscape and one that we believe will bode well both for HP and the local reseller channel,” he concludes.
