Tarsus Technologies has announced the immediate availability of HP`s latest NX9020 and NX9030 notebooks, well renowned as the business workhorses in the HP mobile arsenal.
"With the updated 9020 and 9030, HP have once again combined all of the features and functionality today`s road-warriors require, while offering cost-effective options that assist companies in keeping their IT budgets under control," says Jason McMillan, HP PSG Product Manager at Tarsus Technologies.
"While the new releases are virtually identical, where the major difference comes in, is in the model processor each notebook uses," McMillan continues. "The 9020 is designed to meet the requirements of the more cost-conscious buyer that is prepared to sacrifice a small measure of performance in lieu of cost savings. It makes use of the Celeron-M range of processors and is one of the first notebooks to feature Intel`s new processor naming convention."
Customers can choose to include the 340 (1.5GHz, 512K level 2 cache, 400MHz FSB), 330 (1.4 GHz 512K level 2 cache, 400MHz FSB) or 320 (1.3GHz 512K level 2 cache, 400MHz FSB) mobile Celeron processor with any new 9020.
"The 9030, on the other hand, is designed for true road warriors who want to benefit from advanced power management technology and additional performance gains. The options in the 9030 line include all of the mobile Celeron options used in the 9020 line, in addition to the Pentium-M range of processors which features enhanced SpeedStep technology," McMillan says.
"In terms of storage, the new range affords customers the ability to choose from 30GB, 40GB and 60GB hard disks, as well as a variety of optical drives that include 24x CD-ROM drives, 8x DVD-ROM drives and 24x combination DVD/CD-RW drives. Memory can also be scaled from the standard 128MB of 266-MHz DDR SDRAM to 1024MB, once again depending on the customer`s requirements and budget," McMillan explains.
"Probably the most important feature set corporates look to today when selecting a platform for their mobile sales force, connectivity is an area that has been well addressed with these new releases."
With an integrated 10/100 Ethernet NIC and 56K modem, the basic functionality road warriors require is available to them by default in all configurations. Both of the new notebooks also have the ability to, through a simple user-installable upgrade, take advantage of wireless technology in the form of 802.11b or g technology.
"This functionality rounds out the range`s value proposition, offering the performance and capacity users require, along with the ability to work virtually anywhere. It`s no wonder the 9020 and 9030 are so popular with the corporate sector," McMillan concludes.
