Itec Distribution has announced the immediate local availability of its new digital monochrome MFP (multifunction product) models: the Itec B423, followed later by the Itec B363, Itec B283 and Itec B223.
These new MFPs deliver the cost and efficiency benefits of monochrome printing, but with the advantage of high-speed colour scanning for organisations that want to boost business efficiency in a cost-effective yet environmentally-friendly manner.
The Itec monochrome MFP series offers high-speed colour scanning functionality as a standard feature, and also provides the same controller as colour MFPs, enabling streamlined functionality and service in organisations that have already invested in Itec colour MFPs.
The colour-scanning feature makes the new MFPs ideal for companies that want to streamline document management by capturing colour originals as they are.
Companies can now store digital copies of paper documents and easily share and re-use them, while cutting down on the space required to store them. A searchable PDF function makes it simple for users to search for and copy text from digital documents. In combination with Itec's document management system M-Files, organisations can manage their document workflow via an electronic archive.
Says Holger Groenert, manager of product marketing at Itec Distribution: “Companies that introduce a smooth process for digitising documents can uncover opportunities for document re-use and smooth information sharing, which in turn enhances their operational efficiency.
“With colour scanning, companies can be confident that digital copies of documents look exactly the same as the paper versions. Users are also better able to remember and recognise important information from colour documents than they can from monochrome documents.”
In addition, copy protection features such as the optional Pattern Security feature offer a higher level of security for companies sensitive to the risk of information leakages. Originals printed using a copy prevention code cannot be copied, which prevents unauthorised use when the code is detected.
By using the Copy Guard feature to prevent output and the Password Guard feature that only allows output when a password is entered, the risk of information being leaked to unauthorised third parties is greatly reduced.
The new Itec machines make use of existing network infrastructure to send colour faxes, meaning there is no initial cost or additional transmission costs when sending colour faxes.
The Itec MFPs are designed to be environmentally friendly, boasting low power consumption in line with the international Energy Star programme. They also feature the environmentally conscious polymerised toner, Simitri, which is manufactured using a plant-based resource called Biomass.
In a recovering economy where technology needs to deliver more value for money than ever before, while still boosting efficiency in an environmentally-friendly manner, Itec's new range of MFPs delivers on all accounts.
