New Lenovo headset, Web cam ahead of competition

Johannesburg, 07 Jun 2007

Complementing Lenovo`s existing portfolio of desktop and mobile computers, while at the same time adding functionality that`s becoming critical to most corporate users today, Tarsus Technologies has announced the local availability of Lenovo`s new range of headsets and Web cams.

"Lenovo has spared no expense on the quality and reliability of the new Lenovo headset," says Brett Walter, Lenovo product manager at Tarsus.

Designed and manufactured by Sennheiser, a household name in high-quality speakers and headphones for the professional and consumer markets, Lenovo`s headset is the natural choice.

"With excellent noise-cancelling technology, making it perfect for use in a busy and noisy office environment, and a flexible and comfortable headband for an entire working day`s wear, the new Lenovo headset is perfect for business applications such as telephony or VOIP and even recreational applications such as listening to music.

"The headset also has analogue and digital inputs. Therefore, instead of connecting it via USB, users have the option to use the conventional stereo mini-jack connectors should their computer`s USB ports be occupied by other peripherals," he adds.

"As for the Web cam," Walter says, "Lenovo`s product leaves its competitors far behind."

"It`s crammed with cutting-edge features, like a dual-array microphone that provides greatly improved voice quality, a 1.3 Megapixel sensor that delivers 640x480 video at 30 frames per second and a ball joint that allows it to be rotated through a full 360 degrees.

"Compared to solutions from other vendors in the same price range, the Lenovo Web cam is a clear leader. It is the perfect portable accessory for mobile executives who need to videoconference regularly," Walter concludes.

The new additions to Tarsus` Lenovo line-up are available separately or as part of a Lenovo bundle - further information is available on (011) 531 1000.

The new Lenovo headset and Web cam are available at a recommended retail price of R499 and R739, including VAT, respectively.
