New Lifebook C Series based on latest Intel processors

Fujitsu Siemens Computers has upgraded the LIFEBOOK C Series, the all-purpose notebook aimed at both the casual and the professional user. The C Series is based on the "everything-built-in" concept and additionally offers an optionally integrated Wireless LAN module. It is the first corporate notebook from Fujitsu Siemens Computers, to be powered by the latest Intel Mobile Pentium 4-M processor up to 2.0 GHz, and will be available from May 2002.

The new C Series offers latest technology packed into a new appearance and design. Customers can choose between an Intel Mobile Celeron processor up to 1.4GHz, an Intel Mobile Pentium III processor up to 1.26GHz or the latest Mobile Intel Pentium 4-M processor up to 1.8GHz, which will be available in May 2002.

The new generation Mobile Intel processors not only offers the fastest mobile processor speed available, Intel`s 0.13 micron processor technology combined with the Enhanced Intel SpeedStep technology also assures increased battery life.

The C Series is highly configurable. Apart from the built-in FDD, there are many components to choose from. The buyer can decide between a built-in CD, DVD or Combo drive Alternatively to the 14.1-inch XGA TFT-Display, there is a 15-inch SXGA+ display available. The S-Video out port offers easy connection to standard TV sets or projectors. For fast access to digital camcorders, scanners and other external devices, an optional FireWire port (IEEE1394) is available. A new S/PDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Interface) port transfers digital audio data between CD-, DVD players and amplifiers. For easy cable management an optional Port Replicator is available. The supported operating systems at launch are Windows XP professional, ME or 2000 and DeskView, Fujitsu Siemens Computers client management software delivered as standard with every Lifebook.
