Logitech has introduced a high quality, ultra portable web camera for notebook computer users. Dubbed QuickCam for Notebooks Pro, the unit features a stylish, compact aluminium body and occupies about as much space as a tube of toothpaste.
According to Logitech, with text-based Internet communication rapidly being replaced by visual communication, the product makes it simple to connect users face-to-face from anywhere in the world.
With its CCD VGA (640x480) sensor and built-in microphone, QuickCam for Notebooks Pro offers quality video and still image communication over the Web.
It also includes software to enable digital zoom, which gives users the option to pan, tilt and zoom up to five times the normal viewing size. The built in snapshot button lets users capture still images interpolated to 1.3 megapixels.
Its comes with its own slim but rugged carrying case to make it practical and safe to take anywhere, and its universal notebook mount makes it simple to attach to a notebook screen.
QuickCam for Notebooks Pro includes Logitech ImageStudio software, which makes it easy for the user to:
* Send video instant messages on MSN Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger, and Yahoo! Messenger;
* Record and send a video e-mail;
* Rdit videos and photos with studio-quality MGI VideoWave SE and PhotoSuite SE;
* Create time-lapse and stop-motion movies;
* Create a Web album or a Web cam;
* Keep an eye on their surroundings with motion detection software.
