New modules, enhanced functionality for SYSPRO software

SYSPRO, a producer of enterprise software, has announced the addition of new modules, major functional enhancements and ease-of-use features to SYSPRO Version 6.0, the company's flagship software offering.

The new additions enable customers to add greater efficiencies, facilitate inventory and order tracking, increase controls and security, provide more value-added services, extend their enterprises and reap the rewards of fully-integrated supply chains. The expanded manufacturing, accounting, distribution and Web applications result in the most comprehensive enterprise solution the company has ever offered.

According to Phil Duff, SYSPRO CEO: "These latest features epitomise the SYSPRO design philosophy that promotes tight integration, interoperability and collaboration across the extended enterprise, empowering SYSPRO customers with the highest-levels of process and transaction execution. In fact, most of the enhancements were done at the request of customers."

The new Forecasting module consists of an easy-to-use forecasting management tool that lays the cornerstone for the upcoming SYSPRO Inventory Optimisation Solution. The Forecasting module leverages available history to forecast future sales. Predefined algorithms or a Competition method can be selected wherein the system will use the mathematical formula best suited to an item's historical sales. Dynamic analyses, approval workflow and tabular and graphical reports enable easy analysis and reference and the ability to streamline and optimise inventory forecasting.

A new SYSPRO Electronic Funds Module (EFT) interfaces with SYSPRO Accounts Payable and Cash Book modules to facilitate the processing of electronic payments. The EFT system is designed to meet the requirements of banks in any country with minimal user intervention.

New functionalities added to SYSPRO financials include an optional, structured general ledger for easier navigation, relationship defining, better analysis of information and increased security. Extended commitment accounting functionality and enhancements to the requisitioning and purchasing systems provide SYSPRO users with greater insights into a company's financial health.

The SYSPRO Fixed Assets module has been totally revamped to enable companies to better manage and control their asset investments. The system effectively manages the tracking of assets and includes extensive valuation methods and security options. SYSPRO comes of age in the .Net realm with the introduction of out-of-the-box Web-based applications. Users can now replace the Web application 'desktop' with a customisable dashboard that provides a 'portal-style' look-and-feel along with tighter integration to SYSPRO 6.0, allowing customisation of the menu within the core product itself.

The release sees the introduction of many new improvements to SYSPRO Manufacturing and Distribution functionality. Enhancements such as ease-of-use, hyperlink navigation and customisation capabilities have been implemented in critical queries such as Inventory, Sales Order and Projects and Contracts. Some of the many new features include support for frames and dimensions in purchase orders, enhanced inter-warehouse transfer cost management, extended quality and inspection functionality, purchase order tracking notes and the ability to fully manage inspection on jobs.

The announced additions will enable manufacturers and distributors to tighten controls, gain added insight into operations, improve customer service and better adhere to government regulations.
