New Plantronics solution helps customer service centers evolve seamlessly and cost-effectively

Johannesburg, 01 Dec 2016

Plantronics (NYSE: PLT) recently announced MDA100 QD, uniquely designed to solve the communications challenges associated with transitioning from desk phones to softphone-based telephony and unified communications in call-intensive environments such as customer service centres. As a simple, intuitive switch, it enables customer service representatives (CSRs) to manage audio from different sources without changing headsets, and focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences without distraction.

"Many customer service centres and other call-intensive environments are moving toward softphone-based voice systems to take advantage of greater cost savings, scalability, process automation and efficiency - but still must simultaneously manage traditional desk phone end points as they undertake the transition," said Robert Manassero, Enterprise Product Marketing Manager at Plantronics. "The Plantronics MDA100 QD switch means one less headache for organisations in the midst of this evolution, one less training need for CSRs, and ultimately, one less barrier to great conversations on both ends of the call."

Plantronics MDA100 QD is purpose-built for call-intensive environments where every second matters. It provides organisations with a transitional device to connect CSRs to both desk phone and softphone end points, while protecting their investment in Plantronics headsets already deployed. MDA100 QD is designed to work with quick-disconnect (QD) based headsets found in the Plantronics EncorePro, SupraPlus and Entera Families.

Key product features include:

* Intuitive design with an easy-to-access switch, allowing for easy call management between desk phone and softphone calls.
* Plug-and-play compatibility with most desk phones and softphones, PCs and Macs.
* Large mute button with visual indicator allowing for easy mute control.
* Six-position configuration switch provides compatibility with more than 800 desk phones.
* Ten-foot coil cable allows users to move freely.
* Non-slip base ensures the device stays in place.

Plantronics MDA100 QD is compatible with Plantronics Manager Pro, a software subscription service to manage audio communications devices. With Plantronics Manager Pro, IT and customer service managers can easily track inventory of Plantronics MDA100 QD devices across their businesses to gain insights into their environment.
