Technikon Pretoria and Grintek have established an electrical engineering and computer laboratory at the Technikon`s Nelspruit campus. The lab is expected to enhance science, engineering and technology (SET) training in Mpumalanga.
Grintek has donated R400 000 to equip the facility with the latest technology. The partners say the facility will be unique in the region and will be used in the presentation of courses in electrical engineering.
Grintek annually contributes 0.25% of its profits before taxation to the chairman`s trust to support a variety of community upliftment programmes. It also invests R2 million a year in bursaries for study at universities and technikons.
