New Softline Enterprise products on show at Futurex

The latest additions to Softline Enterprise's range, Sage 1000 and Sage Asset Manager, will be on show at Futurex along with other products such as Sage Line 500 and Sage PayPoint for Retail
Johannesburg, 14 May 2007

Futurex is an exciting opportunity to review how technology has evolved to mirror what we have become. This year, Softline Enterprise will showcase two new products that complete its range of integrated business management solutions: Sage 1000 and Sage Asset Manager.

Softline Enterprise will also exhibit its flagship product Sage Line 500 and Sage PayPoint, creating a powerful retail-specific solution.

Sage 1000

Taking the concept of ERP and integration one step further, Sage 1000 is an 'enterprise-wide' solution, spanning across finance, supply chain, production, sales and marketing and includes full CRM functionality as integral to the solution.

"The integration of CRM into a business management solution is a natural evolution of technology. Slowly becoming a central point of business activity, the CRM platform is now an extension of ERP," says Ashley Ellington, managing director, Softline Enterprise. However, a CRM system does not offer all the features of ERP and vice-versa, which is why Ellington says Sage 1000 is such a unique offering.

Sage 1000 also responds well to the needs of mobile workers. Push e-mail applications were the first to be accessed remotely. However, depending on their profile, e-mail only counts as a small part of the activity of remote workers. Thus, they can sometimes feel frustrated having to go back into the office to perform their daily tasks such as checking or updating a customer record, filling in expense forms, or review and approve supplier quotes. With this in mind, Sage 1000 enables remote access to its corporate applications from HTML-browser equipped devices such as laptops, smartphones or PDAs.

Sage Asset Manager

Asset Manager responds to the simple reality that asset management is perceived as a time-consuming, mundane activity often ending up at the bottom of the priority list. Sage Asset Manager is designed for enterprises looking for a time-efficient system enabling them to easily maintain a perfectly accurate track of their assets available company-wide, eliminating re-keying and duplication of assets between departments.

"Sage Asset Manager takes asset management beyond the spreadsheet by actively managing assets. It saves time spent cross-referencing and analysing databases by automatically providing relevant and accurate overviews," comments Ellington.

Sage Asset Manager's vision is to systemise the forecast of asset costs, anticipate outgoings lying ahead and budget appropriately. It assists in organising company-wide asset rationalisation, and gives automatic overviews in addition to being customisable and IFRS compliant.

Sage PayPoint integrated to Sage Line 500

Sage Line 500 is an ERP solution already encountering great success among South African mid- to large-sized enterprises. This retail-specific version is a complete retail business-management solution that comprises financial, manufacturing, services and distribution modules, and includes the point of sale software Sage PayPoint that runs on the tills. It enables quick, accurate and secure management of customer sale and payment transactions. Sage PayPoint is fully scalable and is able to support sales, whether operating from a single till or from many points across multiple locations.

Understanding that agility is a key competitive advantage for retail, Sage Line 500 with Sage PayPoint also includes e-business and business intelligence functionalities to allow retail trades to keep up to speed with the sector's evolutions.

"This combination results in a wide-ranging management system from customer orders to after-sales service, in the front and back office, on the shop floor and in the warehouse," explains Ellington.
