Tarsus Technologies has announced the immediate availability of the HP StorageWorks 4000 Enterprise Virtual Array (EVA), providing a powerful, highly scalable and easy-to-use storage solution for both the SMB and enterprise markets.
"Bundled with HP`s StorageWorks Command View EVA, a comprehensive software suite designed to simplify array management, administrators now have access to the industry`s easiest approach to configuring and provisioning storage," says Terence Barter, product manager at Tarsus Technologies.
Barter explains how this bundle offers unbeatable performance: "The EVA 4000 provides increased throughput by utilising twice the conventional cache mirroring, thus improving I/O performance. The intelligent use of virtualisation ensures that all disks in the array perform more effectively and efficiently, eliminating bottlenecks that can lower performance."
Physical disks can also be added online quickly to scale storage capacity to requirements without the restrictions traditionally associated with array systems.
"The EVA 4000 will be able to handle up to 16.8TB of storage capacity with varied combinations of high performance Fibre Channel (FC) or low cost Fibre Attached Technology Adapted (FATA) drives. As additional drives are added, the EVA 4000 will automatically distribute the data and at the same time remove any potential hotspots," explains Barter.
"Remote service tools in the form of HP Instant Support Enterprise Edition with proactive remote monitoring, minimises down-time and will even transmit the EVA status to the HP Service Centre for swift problem resolution."
"In the past Fibre Channel solutions have been expensive and not really within reach of the SMB market. HP`s EVA 4000 brings an affordable Fibre Channel virtual array that can grow with your business requirements for solutions in the realm of network-attached storage (NAS) or storage area networking (SAN)," concludes Barter.
